Candidate 1
Receipt Cut
A precise receipt shape with one distinctive cut.
Small-size proof — 16px, 24px and 32px
- Concept
- A solid docket with a single wedge cut into its right edge — the moment a receipt is torn from the roll, made exact instead of ragged.
- Wordmark
- One weight, set tight and lowercase, closed by a cobalt full stop. The wordmark reads as a single confident object next to the solid mark.
- Why this could win
- The strongest silhouette of the three. A filled shape survives a favicon, a stamp and a single-colour print, and the cut is recognisable before any detail is legible.
- Small-size behaviour
- At 16px the cut still breaks the right edge and the shape does not read as a generic rounded square.
- The dedicated favicon geometry drops one value rule and thickens the remaining strokes.
- In one colour the holes keep the mark from collapsing into a solid block.
- Honest risks
- The heaviest of the three; on a dense screen it can dominate a header if scaled above 32px.
- A filled mark carries less air than the current outlined system, so clear space matters more.
- Deliberately avoided
- No generic page-with-folded-corner document icon and no dog-eared clip art.
- Accent
- Electric cobalt #3155FF with ink #111827. No gradient is used.
